How It Works

Earn Your $500 Referral Bonus
You'll receive a $500 referral bonus when:
- Your referral applies for a University Police Officer position
- They identify you as the referring employee when applying
- They are hired
- They complete one full pay cycle
- You are still an active University employee at the time of payment
Referral bonuses are subject to applicable taxes and deductions.
Important Information
- Only six referral bonus payments will be awarded (one for each open position).
- There is no limit to the number of candidates you can refer.
- Only one employee may receive credit for each candidate.
- Candidates must identify you during their initial application. Referrals cannot be added later.
- Referrals are processed based on the hire date of the candidate.
- Part-time employees receive 50% of the referral bonus.
- Employees involved in the hiring or interview process are not eligible for referral bonuses.
Who Can Participate?
Employees not eligible include:
- Human Resources staff
- Hiring managers for the position
- Employees involved in the recruitment or interview process
- Director-level employees and above (including Lieutenants and Captain)
- Per diem, temporary, and seasonal employees
